This is the first design contest I’ve entered and wanted to share it with my virtual world. I call it, “Do You, Despite Toxic Naysayers.”
The graphic, if chosen, will be featured on a t-shirt and represents the following concept theme:
Being awkward can render an individual an outsider or a societal weirdo from what we define as normal. In a similar thread, being born into a family of royal nobility automatically allows an individual considerable social prominence and a position within society’s totem pole that is virtually unattainable for the rest of us.
These two social statuses, though almost contrary share many similarities, with the most obvious being that in both cases, the individual falls outside of the normal social boundaries outlined by society.
More on the origins of the contest creators:
The Misadventures Of Awkward Black Girl (ABG) is partnering with Royal Dynamite (RD) clothing for a “Crown Me: Awkward” t-shirt design contest! Celebrity judges together with RD and ABG fans get to choose the winning design that gets printed on a Royal-tee! Procceds from the collaboration go to benefit the Black Girls Rock Foundation.
Cast your vote for ME July 27 – August 3, 2012 and THANK YOU for your support!
